# Organizations and members

An organization is a shared account with its own API keys, usage and audit log. Create one at [`/orgs/new`](https://app.aggre.org/orgs/new); you become its owner.

## Roles {#roles}

An organization has `owner`, `admin` and `member`, and always at least one owner.

## Invitations {#invitations}

On the **Members** page an owner or admin invites someone with a role. **No e-mail is sent**: the console shows a one-time link (`app.aggre.org/invitations/{token}`) once, and you pass it on. The invitee opens it, signs in and accepts. The invitee must sign in with a method whose **verified** e-mail equals the invited address; otherwise the invitation is refused (`email_mismatch`). Invitations expire after the number of days `GET /v1/config` reports (`invitation_ttl_days`), and the preview works while signed out.

## Handles {#handles}

An organization is addressed by its handle, in the same namespace as users. Only owners rename it; the first rename is free, later ones are limited to one per 30 days. Reserved words are refused. See [Accounts API: handles](https://docs.aggre.org/api/accounts.md#handles).

## Deleting {#delete}

Deleting an organization is permanent and only an owner can do it; you confirm by typing its handle. Leaving an organization is available to everyone except the last owner.
